Crash Proof™ Newsletter- Hope You’re All Reading

Last week we had  yet another successful production and deliver of The Crash Proof Newsletter. After the delivery of the newsletter,  Matt and I excitedly monitored the web traffic as our readers received the newsletter and enjoyed our hard work. Although it is extremely satisfying to see that we are reaching hundreds of consumers every other week that are eager to learn more about the things that matter most to them in retirement, I thought to myself today; “I wonder if the rest of the office Read More +

Pete’s Crash Proof™ Golf Tips

Now that we are looking at nice, warm weather; I think it is important to make sure you are not “that guy” on the course.  You do not want to be the reason 5 hour rounds are taking place.  A lesser person may send some warning shots at you to pick up the pace.  One way to make sure this does not happen is to prepare your putts while waiting, to avoid delaying other players.

Now that Spring is finally here and April is shaping up to be a mild month; the better your striking ability is, the easier it will be to keep your distance with the clubs. The longer the club head remains on the intended line of flight through impact (i.e. square for a normal swing), the better.  This will help minimize those errand slices and shanks.

Pete’s Crash Proof™ Golf Tips

Check your balance before starting your swing by feeling each of your cleats are making equal contact with the ground.  If you start off-balance, you will never recover to be balanced while swinging.  If you follow this tip, you at least have a chance of having a more balanced swing.

Welcome to the World Lucas!

Perhaps our most buzz-worthy post to date, I am writing today to share the news of the long anticipated welcoming of Traci’s son Lucas to the world. Traci is now proud mother to this beautiful baby boy.   Joann Small couldn’t be happier to meet her new grandson with Phil Cannella by her side. Let’s all be sure to give a big congratulations to Traci when she makes it back to the office.

Writers on the Move!

I have some bad news to share with the office today…. Unfortunately, when you go to pour yourself some coffee each morning you will no longer have the beautiful sight of Matt and Kean hard at work right outside of the break room. Although I know it is the better part of your day seeing us whenever you visit the break room, but business comes first and business calls for us to relocate within the office. If you find that you simply cannot handle a Read More +

Pete’s Crash Proof™ Golf Tips

As golf is a civilized game, today we focus on etiquette. A golf course is meant to be a place free of interruptions;  cellular phone and pagers should be kept on ‘Silent’.  Enjoy the time on the course and use it to ‘re-charge’ yourself and get away from your day-to-day life issues.

Pete’s Crash Proof™ Golf Tips

Today’s tip is focused on helping you with your short game:   Once again I will be calling on your imagination to help guide you to a better swing. Imagine a railroad track 1″ wider than your putter.  Keep your putter in this track during back swing and follow through. By creating guidelines with your imagination, you essentially force your natural kinetics to be more precise.

Another Retiree Reaches Out to Phil Cannella and Crash Proof Retirement™

We received a letter this week written by a retiree in New Jersey who attended a Crash Proof Retirement™ Event. The letter shows that the one-of-a-kind educational presentation hosted by Phil Cannella is sparking interests in those able to attend. This particular guest wanted to thank Phil for his efforts on providing useful information to those in or near retirement. The guest also states he is currently reading Phil’s book, Crash Proof Retirement: The Planning Isn’t Over. Our guest even went on to share some Read More +

Phil Cannella to Appear on “The Voice of Reason” with Larry Kane

We got some exciting news last week when we found out that Phil Cannella was invited to be a panelist on Larry Kane’s “The Voice of Reason” on the Comcast Network. Naturally Phil was honored to be appearing on the show with such a respected journalist as Larry Kane, as well as with his fellow panelists, Ryan Sweet, Senior Economist at Moody’s, and Dr. Bruce Rader, Assistant Professor of Finance at Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Earlier today, Mike and Joann Small went down Read More +

Happy Birthday to Joann Small!

We have to congratulate our CEO Joann Small for reaching that all important milestone of life: she finally turned 30! That’s right, Joann Small celebrated her birthday yesterday, although there was no time to take a day off for the hard-working CEO of First Senior Financial Group. Joann celebrated in an understated fashion with the employees of First Senior Financial Group and Retirement Media, Inc. There were two lovely cakes, which the eager staff dug right into once the candles were blown out. So once Read More +

Pete’s Crash Proof™ Golf Tips

Your grip when holding the club is important.  For a proper grip, slight finger pressure should be applied with the last three fingers of the left hand and the two middle fingers of the right hand.  No pressure should be applied with  thumbs and index fingers of either hand.  For lefty’s, reverse this.

Phil Cannella and Joann Small Enrich Us All!

I’m sure we have all heard about the generous donation First Senior Financial Group offered to the Red Cross in light of the desperate need for recovery funding following the destruction of Hurricane Sandy. Phil and Joann presented the donation in front of a crowd of nearly 200 in a room at Adelphia in Deptford, NJ, which was full of retirees eager to receive an exclusive retirement education that truly empowers them in their golden years. Unfortunately not everyone who works for First Senior Financial Read More +

Pete’s Crash Proof™ Golf Tips

To really make this a series you need to have more than one post.  Keep your eyes out for more. I came across this tid-bit and it includes a video.  Enjoy. Golf Ball hitting steel at 150 mph This video is at 70,000 frames per second.  Most people think golf balls are fairly hard.  Now, understand, no one has a swing speed of 150 mph, including Tiger Woods who is just under 130 mph.  The reason you often hear people talk about ball compression and Read More +

Pete’s New Series- Crash Proof Golf Tips

To help improve the office as a whole  I will be sharing some of the better golf tips that come across my desk from my daily calendar.   Today’s hint: Imagine your wrists are in a cast so that they cannot break down and flip at the ball during impact when chipping and pitching.   Keep your eyes out for more tips from my series, Pete’s Crash Proof Golf Tips.  By the end of the year I expect all of us to be scratch Read More +

Best Selling Author Wins Big Against Her Financial Advisor’s Negligence

I thought this was an interesting story. Really gives credence to Phil and Joann’s argument that fiduciary responsibility is needed on Wall Street. Best-selling author Patricia Cornwell was forced to sue her Wall Street-based financial advising firm for negligence in mismanaging her multi-million dollar portfolio. Cornwell claimed in court that the advisors managing her money put her in investments that were all but certain to lose cash. She also argued that these analysts deliberately placed her in certain investment vehicles–many with poor track records–that profited them, but Read More +

Kudos to Matt Brennen

The praises seem to be pouring in from Crash Proof™ clients who have been extremely pleased with the services coming from the design team. This week Phil Cannella received a letter from a client that had recently sat with Matthew Brennen for their annual review. As we all have come to learn, Matt is a hard worker and loves to see his work pay off by protecting consumers and helping them achieve a safe and comfortable Crash Proof Retirement™. It’s always appreciated when others take their time to acknowledge Read More +

The Crash Proof™ Breakfast Club

These donuts were a welcome sight in the break room this morning. For those who don’t know, here at First Senior Financial Group, we do a “Breakfast Club” rotation that I have come to call the Crash Proof™ Breakfast Club. Today’s selection was some donuts, muffins, crossaints and sticky buns from Giant. Thanks to Matt (the other one, not me…) for bringing in such a great spread. Phil Cannella stopped into the break room, and upon seeing the donuts, he remarked that they wouldn’t Read More +
